Requirements and Prerequisites 

System and Browser Requirements 

In order to run AcceλerateTM for Microsoft 365 effectively, users must have at a minimum the following System specifications and requirements:

  • Supported Operating Systems: Windows 10 and higher 

    • At this time, Acceλerate for Microsoft 365 is not compatible with iOS

  • Supported Browsers: Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera

  • RAM minimum - 8 GB

  • Disk Space: 290MB

  • Compatible with: Microsoft Excel 2016, Microsoft Excel 2019, and Microsoft Office 365


Prerequisites

To be able to install and run AcceλerateTM for Microsoft 365 effectively, you must have the following installed on your machine.  These prerequisites are listed in no particular order.  As a courtesy, we have provided links to the web pages where these free downloadable programs may be obtained. Note, Apex claims no responsibility or liability for the use of these programs.

Installation, Registration, and Activation

Now that you have your system ready, follow these steps to install AcceλerateTM for Microsoft 365 onto your computer.


  1. Download the installer onto your computer.  You will find both of your download links in one of two places:  the confirmation email you received when you completed your order, or in your Customer Portal on our website, under the Product Downloads tab.

  1. You will find your software located in your downloads folder. There will be two items. Select and run the item titled Apex.UserExperience-setup.exe: 



  1. This will bring you to the Apex User Experience Installer. Select your preferred language and then select OK.


  1. Please read and agree to the Licensing Agreement. Then select I accept the agreement and Next. To save a copy for your records, one can be found HERE

  1. Select your installation folder and select NextWe recommend using the default folder. 


  1. This is the Default name given to the Apex User Experience Start menu folder. Again, we recommend using this default name. Select Next:

  1. Please select this box if you would like a desktop shortcut added, for ease of use accessing the Apex User Experience. Select Next:

  1. Select Install to start the installation.


  1. …installing….


  1. Select Finish. The Apex User Experience has now been successfully installed on your computer.


  1. Now go back to your software located in your downloads folder. There will still be two items. Select and run the item titled Accelerate365-setup.exe. This will bring you to the Acceλerate 365 Installer. Select your preferred language and then OK.:




  1. Please read and agree to the Licensing Agreement. Then select I accept the agreement and Next: If you need a copy for your records, one can be found HERE. 


  1. Select your installation folder and select Next. We recommend using the default folder:

  1. This is the Default name given to the Apex User Experience Start menu folder. Again, we do not recommend changing this default name. Select Next:

  1. Select Install to start the installation.

  1. Select Finish. Acceλerate for Microsoft 365 has now been successfully installed on your computer.


  1. Next you will need to Add Acceλerate to your PATH. This can be done through your System Properties. Open your Computer Settings, and go to the section About your System (shown is Windows 10).



  1. Go down to the section titled About, and then on the right select Advanced System Settings.



  1. Select the button labeled Environment Variables. (You will notice that ACCELERATE_365_HOME and APEX_USER_EXPERIENCE_HOME have both self-installed. Do not change these.)



  1. Towards the bottom half of your section titled User Variables is a Variable called Path. Double Click on that line, and it will bring up another box titled Edit Environment Variable.



  1. Select the button at the top labeled New and enter into this line %ACCELERATE_365_HOME% . In a second line, add %APEX_USER_EXPERIENCE_HOME% . This is the location information that is needed by Excel to help find where Accelerate is located.




  1. Click OK  in the Edit Environment Variables box, then OK in the System Variables box, then Apply in the System Properties box to be sure that your changes are saved in the PATH.


Acceλerate for Microsoft 365 is now installed.  Next you will need to register and activate your license.


Your AcceλerateTM License


Acceλerate for Microsoft 365 comes with a 30-day free trial.  During this free trial period, you have access to all its features and functions. At the end of the 30 days, your credit card on file will be charged and your 12-month paid license begins. Of course, you have the option to cancel the annual subscription prior to the end of that trial period.  


Your annual license is just that, an annual license.  For your convenience, your license will be set to automatically renew at the end of your paid license period for another 12 months.  You may manage your automatic renewal through your Customer Portal.  Any changes to your renewal or credit card information must be done prior to your next renewal date.  


Registering, Activating and Relocating Your AcceλerateTM for Microsoft 365 License


After you have installed Acceλerate for Microsoft 365, you must register and activate your copy of Acceλerate for Microsoft 365, even if it is in Trial mode. You will need your Product License Key and the Product ID, which is provided to you in your order confirmation email. You will also find this information in your Customer Portal, which was automatically created during the checkout process. Registering your product is a one time process per license.


Activating your license gives you access to use Acceλerate for Microsoft 365.  At this time, your license allows use on one machine only.  In addition, the software cannot be used on Virtual Machines.  However, you have the ability to deactivate your license on one machine and relocate it to another if needed.  

*Note, you will not be able to run Acceλerate for Microsoft 365 on more than one machine at the same time unless you have additional licenses.


**Note:  Multiple registrations are permitted, but your license will only allow up to the maximum activations associated with the license you purchased.


Registering and Activating Your Product

To register and activate your copy of AcceλerateTM for Microsoft 365, follow these steps:


  1. A customer account was established during your initial checkout with Apex.  Your user name will be your email address, and a password will be assigned to you which you will be required to change upon first login.  Also, be sure to monitor your email account for a verification request from Auth0user.net as part of that setup.

  2. Upon successful completion of the checkout process, you will receive an email summarizing your order.  This email contains important information needed for registering your copy of Acceλerate for Microsoft 365, namely the Product ID and Product Key.

  1. Double click the Apex User Experience shortcut that is now on your desktop:

  1. Select “Log In”:

  1. Enter your Email and Password, and select Continue:

  1. Under License Management, select “Register or Activate a Product”:

  1. Select your Product ID from the available products, and enter the Product Order API Key found in your order completion email. Click the Register button.  Be sure to select the Refresh Button to accept your Product Key:


  1. Click the Register button.  Be sure to select the Refresh Button to accept your Product Key:



  2. You have now entered your Product Key into the machine, however, this does not Activate your license.  To Activate your license, select the Activate button:

  1. Your license and registration are now active on this machine. You can select the red “X” to close:

  1. Or you can now exit the Apex User Experience by right clicking our logo in the “hidden icons” and selecting “Exit”. You can still use Acceλerate after exiting:




Relocating an AcceλerateTM Installation to a Different Machine


Note:  This is not the same as installing, registering, and activating a new license.


As stated above, you can relocate your Acceλerate for Microsoft 365 license to a different machine if needed. To do so, you must first deactivate your license from the first machine as follows:


  1. Double click the Apex User Experience shortcut that is now on your desktop:

  1. Under License Management, select “Register or Activate a Product”:

  1. Under “Registration Information”, select “Deactivate”:



  1. Your product is now deactivated, and can be moved to another computer:

Once you have deactivated your license on your current machine, follow the instructions for installing the software and activating your license for your new machine.  Note that you will not be required to register your product again.
